Wakanda 4.0 is organizing the first edition of a Cryptoverse Summit this May 18 at the Caudan Art Center in Mauritius. The opportunity to gather specialists, operators, as well as entrepreneurs to talk about cryptocurrencies, Metaverse and NFT.
A first edition of the Cryptoverse Summit
The announcement was made at a press briefing on Wednesday 27 April by Benito Elisa, founder of Wakanda 4.0, a Mauritian company specialized in the commercial development of modern technologies in Africa. This May 18, the first edition of a Cryptoverse Summit will be held at the Caudan Arts Centre. According to the firm, the summit is mainly aimed at conveying information around the world of cryptocurrencies and the Metaverse, which they believe will have to change the world before long. Thus, local and international speakers, experts in these fields, should intervene throughout the event.
The summit will be held face-to-face. However, due to the health context, only 50 places are available. However, in order to allow more people to participate, the event will also be broadcast through a livestream.
Training Mauritians in blockchain and crytpo
The organization of the event was not done randomly. Wakanda 4.0 wishes to take advantage of the proclamation of the Mauritius VAITOS Act 2021, which was made last month. It is thanks to this law that the Mauritian jurisdiction has finally entered the crypto space. In order to attract VASPs (Virtual Asset Service Providers) from all over the world, Mauritian staff is in need of training in virtual assets and blockchain technology…hence the idea of this summit!
Wakanda 4.0 thus warns: ” Ready or not, the Metaverse is going to change the world very soon. A wave of new vendors are popping up to help organizations market and monetize new products across sprawling virtual worlds, and live entertainment companies and game developers are providing successful early use cases for the potential of what the Metaverse could be. »
A summit every six months
The Cryptoverse Summit will be held every six months in Mauritius, to keep the Mauritian jurisdiction abreast of the latest developments in the sector. Wakanda 4.0 will thus ensure to attract many VASPs from the second edition in Mauritius which should be held later this year. The first edition will thus be more focused on knowledge sharing and the participation of some key international players in the sector to talk about their respective projects.
A complete panel of speakers
The founder of Wakanda 4.0 also added that during the event, there will be a legal panel composed of lawyers experts in Fintech. During the summit, they will review the approach taken in the country to regulate Virtual Assets service providers. There will also be accountants from the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA) and theAssociation of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as strategic partners for this event. Mahen Seeruttun, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, will be the chief guest at the summit.
