{"id":30763,"date":"2022-06-10T19:35:24","date_gmt":"2022-06-10T15:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ict.io\/the-startup-weekend-is-back-in-person\/"},"modified":"2022-06-20T18:34:40","modified_gmt":"2022-06-20T14:34:40","slug":"the-startup-weekend-is-back-in-person","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ict.io\/en\/the-startup-weekend-is-back-in-person\/","title":{"rendered":"The Startup Weekend is back in person"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>The association Webcup organizes the 19th edition of the Startup Weekend in Reunion Island.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Startup Weekend: 19th edition<\/h2>\n\n<p>With a history of 18 Startup Weekend to its credit, the association <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/associationwebcup.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Webcup<\/a>\n<\/strong>which has been working for several years to promote entrepreneurship, is finally organizing the 19th edition of its famous entrepreneurial marathon on June 24, 25 and 26.  <\/p>\n\n<p>After two years marked by the health crisis, the lights are finally green to allow the association to prepare this edition, in person this time,<strong> <\/strong>in the premises of the University Technological Park of Sainte Clotilde in Reunion Island. The event will bring together more than a hundred participants, project owners, but also professionals, students, job seekers, all those who wish to participate in this human adventure around innovative entrepreneurship. This new opus of the Startup Weekend will highlight the <strong>Tech4Good<\/strong>, a new theme on innovation for the common good, in collaboration with the French Tech la R\u00e9union.<\/p>\n\n<p>As a reminder, Startup Weekend is a global event developed in more than 300 cities and more than 50 countries around the world, with the objective of going from an idea to a project in only 54 hours.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Tech4Good, a major challenge<\/h2>\n\n<p>Tech for Good, or how to move from innovation to progress: the challenge of undertaking while respecting the 17 sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations is not obvious, and yet essential in the face of social, societal and ecological issues.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Defined as technology for the common good, Tech for Good aims to anticipate the negative impacts of the industrial and digital revolution, while continuing to improve our daily lives.  <\/p>\n\n<p>We can cite as an example the technology at the service of the fight against poverty, the fight for a better health or education, and of course, all the actions aiming at fighting for a more ecological planet and the reduction of inequalities!  <\/p>\n\n<p>These challenges with a strong societal impact will be at the heart of the project leaders of this 19th Startup Weekend, in collaboration with the French Tech La R\u00e9union  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">54 hours to create a project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Webcup association will develop for the occasion, and as at each Startup Weekend, a complete ecosystem conducive to the acceleration of innovative projects: twenty coaches such as: accounting, legal, commercial, communication, business development, or even seasoned entrepreneurs to serve these future startup &#8230;<\/p>\n\n<p>As was the case for Zotcar, Story Enjoy, 8 000 Mondes, P\u00e9p\u00e9 Jos\u00e9, and many others over the past 10 years, a jury of experts will be in charge of selecting the projects and detecting the future startups of Reunion Island.<\/p>\n\n<p>A friendly weekend, therefore, which is taking shape with, in addition to the professional skills and a motivated team that are essential to the structuring of a project, the expected participants will be taken care of by volunteers of the association throughout these 54 hours.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The Startup Weekend Reunion has already allowed the creation of about twenty startups, from <strong>Zotcar to <\/strong> <strong>Story Enjoy<\/strong>, including <strong>P\u00e9p\u00e9 Jos\u00e9<\/strong>, <strong>Notarly <\/strong>and <strong>8000 Mondes<\/strong>.
