The Junior Chamber International of Mauritius (JCI Mauritius) is offering the 31st edition of one of its flagship projects: The Most Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) programme. This new edition, launched on Thursday, March 23, 2017 will have the theme “Nou Pei Hope”.
JCI, an association of young global citizens
JCI is a global community of young active citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 who are dedicated to creating the positive change they want to see in themselves and the world. By providing development opportunities that enable young people to create positive change, the association seeks to become the world’s leading network of young active citizens. Today, JCI has nearly 200,000 active members in 115 countries around the world.
The association, which has been present in Mauritius for more than 30 years, has 5 local sections: Beau Bassin / Rose Hill, Curepipe, Port Louis, Quatre Bornes and City Plus.
“Our organization believes in the potential of young people and their passion. We believe that through a collective approach, we have the opportunity and responsibility to build a better future. We want our country to be well represented in this inspiring international program, which honors young people who excel in their field. We know that our exceptional youth can serve as role models for others around the world,” said Asha Auckloo, JCI Mauritius National President.
CHILE, main sponsor of this 31st edition
This 2017 edition of TOYP, mainly sponsored by CHILE, will once again be about finding the ten most outstanding Young People in the world. JCI Mauritius is confident that Mauritius will have some of the world’s top ten young people. Chile sees this competition as a unique opportunity to recognize and reward young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the highest qualities of youth.
“At every level, this program is in line with our company’s vision and values: passion, ethics, creativity, teamwork, customer focus are our principles. These young people have been able to use their efforts to advance the country to which our company is fundamentally attached. Through their exceptional journey, they share the vision of CHILE that will ‘go beyond borders’,” said Chairman and Managing Director, Sanjay Garg.
True to its roots, CHILI is therefore committed to promoting individual initiative and believes in the positive impact created by the youth in Mauritius. By partnering with this event, the company is once again demonstrating its commitment to celebrating young talent in Mauritius and encouraging them to excel.
