Video games: the must-haves of 2021

2021 is almost over, and several games have already marked the year. Today, we’re giving you a list of these must-have games released this year!

Scarlet Nexus

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Microsoft Windows

Scarlet Nexus is a success story for a franchise just starting out. The story takes us to an apocalyptic universe in which humans with powers oppose mutans called “Others”. Even if the fights can seem rather messy as there are so many things happening on screen, the universe is very attractive and the plot is well tied up. A good first game that gives hope for a stronger sequel in the years to come.

Metroid Dread

Platform : Nintendo Switch

This new episode of the adventure saga shows us how this legendary Nintendo license has not aged. It is a game with excellent gameplay, fluid in every way, with intelligent levels with a well-dosed difficulty. The cinematics are not beautiful, but it’s good to see the iconic Samus again and to learn more about her character!

Life is Strange: True Colors

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia

Life is Strange: True Colors is a human adventure full of sweetness and shimmering colors, enhanced by an excellent soundtrack. As in the previous episodes of the famous saga of narrative games, we play as an engaging teenager with extraordinary powers (in this opus, it is the power of empathy!). The game feels a bit slow at times, but the plot is interesting, and the universe is very detailed. Bonus: some of the osts are sung by the indie singer mxmtoon! A perfect game to forget your everyday worries.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is simply a visual and auditory slap in the face. It is a narrative adventure game in which you play as Kena, a traveling adventurer who discovers the secrets of a forgotten community hidden in the forest. The game doesn’t invent anything, but the visuals and music are unforgettable, the gameplay is rich, and the story is very poetic. We love discovering the mysterious world of Kena!

Resident Evil Village

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia

This eighth installment of the legendary horror saga plunges us into a Romanian village infested with monsters. A chilling adventure not recommended for the faint of heart.

It’s a graphically beautiful game, which differs from its predecessor in the increased quality of its combat with the monsters. In this episode, you have to be more strategic, and use your environment to survive. Environment which by the way is very detailed, and extremely immersive, with an extensive map. The atmosphere is gripping, and despite the cliché scenario, it’s a first-person survival that takes the guts!
