SIL seeks to expand its operations in Africa

The eGov Conference 2017 was a boon for SIL, allowing it to showcase its new products to its public sector partners. The parastatal is relying on its know-how and knowledge of regional markets to launch its African activities in order to optimize its future growth.

“We currently make 30% of our turnover from our activities in Africa. Our goal is to increase this share to 50% within a few years. We have projects, some of which are in the implementation phase, in some 15 countries. We just signed a contract with the Senegalese government for a project to improve their business environment. A team from SIL has already gone there and work has already started,” according to SIL General Manager Kemraz Mohee.

Since its creation 28 years ago, the parastatal has contributed to the implementation of more than 250 projects in some 15 countries on the African continent. From Algeria to South Africa via Ghana, State Informatics Ltd is also present in other countries such as Namibia and Botswana among others. With many innovative projects in various sectors such as health or agriculture, SIL wishes to see its activities grow on the African continent.
