The Techstars Startup Weekend is organised by the Outsourcing and Telecommunications Association of Mauritius, the Mauritius IT Industry Association and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the National Computer Board, operating under the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation.
Start-up bootcamp: upgrading and coaching
Beforehand, the organizers have also planned a “start-up bootcamp”. Don’t panic, it won’t be about sweating, but rather about upgrading and coaching those who will be in the running. Moreover, La Turbine, the Mauritian incubator of the ENL group, allowed the participants to get a foot in the start-up world on Saturday 18 August. They were able to learn about this field.
The Test Drive Turbine
The free training program “Test Drive” is aimed at the creation and implementation of innovative ideas. These can come from any individual or team that has identified a new opportunity. It could also be a solution to a relevant and existing problem in the life of companies or individuals.
A free three-day training course
Thus, La Turbine offers to local talents a training in three evenings, in partnership with Dodo Work Play, Pongo.io, Alinae Consulting, Circus, Compass, Ict.io and Spoon consulting. During this Start-up Weekend/Infotech, participants will be able to finalize their business plan and their start-up idea. Or simply live a real entrepreneurial adventure! They will also be able to deepen their value proposition, sales techniques, branding and prototype.
An incubation program following the Test Drive
Namely, the best Fintech, Blockchain or Artificial Intelligence startup will be sponsored by Rogers Capital up to a cap of Rs 100,000. The Turbine will also offer its incubation program to all those who successfully complete the Test Drive. This will be a one-year program. It will include weekly business coaching, free workspace in their co-working space, tailored workshops, among others. Discussion sessions with experts are also planned.
