Microsoft Device Day: Windows 10 news presented to Mauritian resellers

Working closely with its partners, Dell, Lenovo, HP and Acer, to bring the best of technology to its customers around the world: this is Microsoft’s goal with Windows 10.

It is in this perspective that Microsoft Indian Ocean and French Pacific gave an appointment on Thursday, December 8 to its resellers. Thus, about thirty of them answered the call, for a half-day training on the latest computers and tablets equipped with Windows 10, available for the Mauritian market.

During this “Device Day” hosted by representatives of Microsoft and its partners, attendees were able to familiarize themselves with the new features available in Mauritius. They are now able to better advise customers when shopping, because according to Sherif Morsi, Microsoft’s Devices Lead, each machine was created with a specific profile in mind.

In exclusivity the retailers could discover the computers and tablets :

A fruitful collaboration

“We have worked hard with our partners to launch modern, high-performance machines, both touch and non-touch, for all target audiences, consumers, professionals and students,” said Sherif Morsi at the event.

This kind of event set up by Microsoft should allow resellers to better know the products, in order to better advise their customers whose demands are growing.

“What’s very important to remember about Windows 10 is that we’ve worked with our manufacturer partners to make sure that the machines are powerful enough to receive the Windows 10 installation (…) and whether it’s a touchscreen or non-touchscreen, the experience will be the same.” says Sherif Morsi.

At ICT.io we welcome this initiative from Microsoft, as all too often we encounter salespeople struggling to advise customers. As a result, they end up buying machines that do not meet their needs at all. It will be an added value for retailers to have salespeople who are able to advise customers properly, before focusing on their sales figures.

For HP fans, you can already start saving for the HP Elite x3 which will be available in Africa in 2017.
